Thanks so much for your email.
Philip will be starting work on a new TV project in early September and there is still MAD DOGS 4 to be transmitted on SKY.
Best wishes
And don't forget, Big School starts this Friday, 16th August at 9pm on BBC One/HD.
One of our "extended team" has been in touch with Philip's agent to see what projects he's got coming up in the near future. Here is their reply. Thanks so much for your email. Of course we knew about Mad Dogs Series 4 (a two-part finale), but there is no confirmation of a transmission date. See our latest post here. Also, but not mentioned by his agent, is Agatha Christie's Poirot: Curtain, in which he will be playing Sir William Boyd Carrington. A twitter exchange with David Suchet, seems to indicate this won't air until late 2014. But this news about a new TV project is very exciting. We've no idea what it is or what channel it will be on, but for Philip to continue to get TV exposure is great. As soon as we hear anything more we'll let you know.
And don't forget, Big School starts this Friday, 16th August at 9pm on BBC One/HD.

Major photo update (2/3)9/8/2013 We have continued to add new photos to our site from the collection sent to us a few days ago. Here are the albums that have been added or updated in this second batch.
Left Bank pictures, the production company behind Mad Dogs, have updated their website with information about the fourth and final series. Confirming that it will comprise two 60 minutes episodes, they give a few details about the plot-line for series four and seems to indicate a transmission date of Christmas 2013. This is earlier than we had previously been led to believe so hopefully Sky have adjusted their schedule. Please click the button below to view the comments. (Warning: contains spoilers) Series Four will see the conclusion of our story and the completion of our journey. We will finally bring the boys home and reunite them with their old lives, before the allure of money snaps at their heels and tempts them back overseas again and straight back into a whole new set of problems. Has the past finally caught up with them? Thanks to Susan for pointing us in the direction of this information!
Edit (5th Aug 2013): Left Bank Pictures have since reduced the amount of information on the Mad Dogs page but the transmission date remains the same. Sky have today announced that from 3rd July they will be re-airing every episode of Mad Dogs - that's twelve weeks of pure Philip Glenister goodness on our screens. For hardcore fans, it's a great way to relive the misadventures of Quinn, Bexter, Woody and Rick, but also gives anyone whose missed the Mad Dogs boat, the chance to see just what all the fuss is about and of course to get up to date before the two part finale early in the new year. The first episode of Series 1 will air on Wednesday 3rd July at 9pm on Sky1/HD and then again at 10pm on Sky1 +1 Also in July Mad Dogs Series 3 will air in Australia, It will start on the 15th July on FX. Mad Dogs finale watched by 440k26/6/2013 The overnight viewing figures for Mad Dogs episode 4, suggest an audience of 440k; a 2% share. The episode has had mixed reviews from critics.
Personally, we here at PhilipGlenisterFans feel that this episode wasn't as strong as others this series; with a few strange and off-beat scenes. The chemistry between the Phil, John, Max and Marc was brilliant (as usual) but the episode was lacking in substance. There were some nice touches though; look out for two of the four main actors showing off their real life talents, and a couple of throwbacks to first series. The ending was curious, given that a fourth series has already been filmed and, according to the Sky voice over at the end of this episode, will air early next year. It will be interesting to see where they take the show from here; not just location wise, but in the character development also. If you missed the final episode you can see it again on Thursday 27th June or Saturday 29th June at 9pm on Sky1 (10pm on Sky1 +1). You can also catch up with some images from all three series (and behind the scenes) on our Mad Dogs photo page. What did you think about the final episode - do let us know by leaving a comment below. The first episode of Mad Dogs Series 3 gained an audience of 507,000, making it the most watched programme on Sky1 last night. This is slightly lower than the first two series, but it did have stiff competition from a number of other channels.
It has had mixed reviews from the critics, some wondering about the extreme lengths that the plot seems to go to. The Metro, The Telegraph and The Independent liked it, The Daily Mail didn't. What did you think? Let us know here. If you missed it, there are further chances to see the episode tonight and tomorrow - see our TV listings page for details. Also today, Sky have released the synopsis for episode 4 which has allowed us to complete our Series 3 episode guide. They have also announced that a special documentary, 'Mad Dogs: Behind the Madness' will air on Tuesday 25th June at 10pm (following directly on from the series finale). Mad Dogs Series 3, Episode 1 review29/5/2013 Here at Philip Glenister Fans we have taken full advantage of Sky's decision to show the first episode of Mad Dogs Series 3 a week early via their On Demand service and we now bring you our review of episode one. It is (mostly) spoiler free, but we will put it under a cut for those who don't wish to read. Suffice to say, it's a very good episode. We’ll admit, it was with slight trepidation that we sat down to watch the first episode of Mad Dogs series 3. Whilst we love Phil (obviously) and support all his projects we thought series 2 had gone off the ball a little and lost some of the charm of series 1. But the trailers suggest that this new series is going to restore Mad Dogs to its former glory and we’re happy to say that, based on the first episode, it does just that. After a quick (and very helpful) recap of the previous two series, the first episode of series 3 picks up where the final episode of series 2 left off. After being double crossed by drug dealer McKenzie, the boys (Quinn, Baxter, Woody and Rick) find themselves being held in a desert prison in the middle of nowhere. (On a purely aesthetic note, the orange jump suits they are forced to wear do nothing for the four main stars but their tanned skin certainly does!) They soon meet feisty ex-soldier, Mercedes (played by Jamie Winstone) who reveals exactly where they are. It doesn’t take long for Quinn to become suspicious of her though, resulting in a rather amusing scene where she pushes him to the floor. The people holding them quickly figure out which of the lads is the weakest link in the chain and employ ‘enhanced interrogation techniques’ to find out what happened and then release them. But is everything as it seems? Emotions run high as the episode continues and just when you think you know what’s happening the story twists once more and the lads find themselves in the worst position imaginable. Cris Cole delivers a great tension filled opener complete with some great one-liners (including , “I mean, extremists; they don’t shop and M&S”). We also welcome back Adrian Shergold as director (after a break during series 2) and that may be why this episode feels more faithful to the original series. But what makes this episode is the stellar performances from the four main cast members. Absolutely mesmerising. The episode ends on a cliff hanger that is sure to make you want more. We certainly do and we can’t wait to see how the boy deal with their current situation. We suspect, having watched the ‘next time…’ preview at the end of this episode (which contains a nice shot of Quinn’s naked chest!), that some will cope better than others… Mad Dogs returns to Sky 1 on Tuesday 4th June at 9pm. Sky’s On Demand users can get it from now via their Sky boxes.
